Glacier Computer has released the Everest S9000 stainless steel rugged computer terminal, designed for customers who need an IP65/NEMA 4 sealed unit to meet hygienic standards or who work in conditions which require a water-resistant terminal.

“We designed the Everest S9000 for a valued customer in food processing who needed a rugged computer terminal that could withstand caustic daily wash-downs and consistently perform to the same standard as the Everest series models they were currently using,” said Dan Poisson, director of engineering. “The S9000 stainless steel terminal provides a smooth casing with a flush-mount resistive touch panel and sealed I/O connectors making it virtually waterproof.”

The unit is powered by an Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz processor and includes a 2.5 in. Serial ATA hard disk drive, Internal 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual internal antennas, either 12- or 15-in. displays and optional mounting systems.

It runs on Windows XP or Windows 7 operating systems.
