The American Trucking Assn (ATA). is seeking nominees for its Mike Russell “Good stuff” Trucking Image Award. The award honors those who have generated positive awareness of the trucking industry.

“As an industry, it is important that we highlight trucking’s essentiality,” said ATA president & CEO Gov. Bill Graves. “This award provides a chance to recognize those that have gone above and beyond to promote trucking’s role as the backbone of the American economy.”

Deadline for submissions is Sept. 14, 2009. Entries will be judged by a panel on creativity, execution and reach/impact. Winners will be announced at ATA’s Management Conference & Exhibitions, Oct. 4-7, in Las Vegas.

Forms are available online at the ATA Web site.

The award is named in honor of the late Mike Russell, a trucking industry supporter and media official who helped develop the “Good stuff. Trucks Bring It.” campaign during his time as vp of public affairs for ATA.
