The Practical Cargo Securement, a 405-page resource guide for drivers, carriers, shippers and law enforcement, is now available from the American Trucking Assn. (ATA) Safety Management Council.

The book, part of ATA’s Business Solutions line, provides tips on securing cargo for transport, covering basic principles and regulations along with diagrams, graphs and other visuals for comprehension of weight distribution, gravitational pull, load positioning and the correct use of restraints, ATA said.

There is also a second section dedicated to unique commodities such as logs, dressed lumber and building materials, metal coils, paper rolls and more. U.S. and Canadian regulations are included.
