The American Society of Business Press Editors (ASBPE) has recognized Fleet Owner with six Azbee Awards for Editorial and Design Excellence, including two national awards for a series of feature stories and for its annual buyer's guide. Fleet Owner's web editor, Terry Nguyen, was also posthumously recognized as one of six 2007 Young Leaders Scholarship Award winners.
Competing in ASBPE's Northeast region, which includes such New York and Boston-based magazines as Business Week and CIO, Fleet Owner was also awarded four regional Azbees.
Nationally, Fleet Owner was chosen from 2,600 entries for bronze Azbee awards in the Buyer's Guide category for its Oct. 2006 “50th Annual Equipment Specs and Buyer's Directory,” and in the Feature Series category for “The Fuel Bite,” published in June 2006.
The regional winners include two gold awards for a special section (“Choosing an Idle Reduction System,” March 2006), and for a special supplement (“The 10 Issues Shaping Trucking,” November 2006). The magazine's other regional winners were two bronze awards for Front Cover-Computer Generated (“The Fuel Bite,” June 2006) and How-to Article (“Advanced Safety Systems: Finding the ROI,” Apr. 2006).
