Bridgestone Americas has named Christine Karbowiak, currently vp of community and corporate relations for BSAH, to its board of directors. She will be the first woman to serve on a Bridgestone Group board when she joins on Jan. 1, 2009. Also, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations will be led by Asahiko Nishiyama.   • Goodyear Tire & Rubber has named Darren Wells chief financial officer, replacing W. Mark Schmitz.

  • Bergstrom has named Bill Gordon national director of aftermarket and director of global marketing.

  • Tom Trimbach has been named president of Virtual Dispatch's U.S. operations. Trimbach will oversee Virtual Dispatch USA, based in Grand Haven, MI.

  • Jim Schofield has joined Recaptured Energy Technologies as vp of business development. In this position, Schofield will be responsible for the sales and business expansion functions of the company.

  • Larry Fullerton has taken on the responsibilities of chief scientist for FreightScan.

  • Gerald R. Szczepanski has been appointed to the board of directors of Rush Enterprises.

  • Rodney Ruth has been appointed to the position of president and CEO of Auto Driveaway. Also, Scott Okun is the new national director of sales and marketing.

  • Tom Cornell has been named managing director of IronPlanet Europe.

  • Brent Burns has assumed the role of executive vp and chief financial officer of JM Family Enterprises. Also, Frank Armstrong has been promoted to president of subsidiary World Omni Financial Corp. and executive vp of JM Family and Dan Chait was named group vp of World Omni.

  • Wells Fargo Equipment Finance Inc. has appointed three new territory managers to its Commercial Vehicle Finance unit. Spencer Moon will serve the Pacific Northwest; Chenpo Lin, the Southwest; and James Legris, the Northeast.
