Alcoa taps treasurer

Peter Hong is joining aluminum product maker Alcoa as the company’s vp and treasurer effective April 11. He will succeed William Plummer, who resigned from Alcoa to join Dow Jones & Co.

Peter Hong is joining aluminum product maker Alcoa as the company’s vp and treasurer effective April 11. He will succeed William Plummer, who resigned from Alcoa to join Dow Jones & Co.

Hong will be responsible for all global treasury activities, including risk, cash, and capital management, as well as managing relationships with creditors, rating agencies and commercial banks.

He comes to Alcoa from Avaya Inc., a business communications, applications, software and services firm, where he served as vp & treasurer since 2004. Prior to Avaya, he worked as vp and treasurer at the Ingersoll-Rand Co.
