Mackenzie oversaw all operations of less-than-truckload carrier Overnite Transportion, which was acquired by UPS. He joined Overnite in 1996 as senior vp, sales & marketing, and worked his way up the ladder to COO, the position he held when UPS purchased Overnight in 2006.

He will replace Alan Levin, who was named secretary of economic development for the State of Delaware. Mackenzie will be one of three independent directors on the board of privately owned A. Duie Pyle. The other directors are Marty Lautmann, former chairman of GfK Custom Research-North America, and John Oyler, former managing partner at the McNess, Wallace & Nurick law firm in Harrisburg, PA.
