The U.S. Environmental Protection agency has recognized 24 trucking operations that have demonstrated reduced energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions through innovative strategies and technologies

The U.S. Environmental Protection agency has recognized 24 trucking operations that have demonstrated reduced energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions through innovative strategies and technologies.

The companies were selected from a list of EPA’s SmartWay Transport Partnership, a voluntary program designed to help companies cut air pollution and save fuel. SmartWay helps carriers and shippers access fuel- and emissions-saving technologies, such as engine idle reduction technology, low rolling resistance tires, improved aerodynamics and exhaust aftertreatment devices.

Over 450 companies have joined the SmartWay partnership so far.
