The U.S. Environmental Protection agency has recognized 24 trucking operations that have demonstrated reduced energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions through innovative strategies and technologies.
The companies were selected from a list of EPA’s SmartWay Transport Partnership, a voluntary program designed to help companies cut air pollution and save fuel. SmartWay helps carriers and shippers access fuel- and emissions-saving technologies, such as engine idle reduction technology, low rolling resistance tires, improved aerodynamics and exhaust aftertreatment devices.
Over 450 companies have joined the SmartWay partnership so far.
