A new system designed to dispense both diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) and diesel fuel at the same fueling point will be shown at the Natso Show later this month. The dispenser, touted as the first of its kind by maker Gilbarco Veeder-Root, features a stainless steel mass flow meter to accurately measure DEF. It is also features a thermostat-controlled heated cabinet to prevent DEF freezing and crystallization, Gilbarco said.

“Drivers clearly want the convenience of filling their diesel and DEF tanks from the same fueling position, anywhere on the island,” said Chad Johnson, marketing manager at Gilbarco Veeder-Root. ”Our unique design allows retailers to make the most of their forecourt space and allows for the card transaction to take place at a single fueling position, improving forecourt throughput. And Gilbarco quality means the retailer enjoys the lowest possible total cost of ownership for forecourt equipment.”

When dispensing diesel fuel, the dispenser operates as an “ultra-hi flow diesel master” that can work with an encore S diesel ultra-hi flow satellite unit on the other side so a driver can fill two tanks simultaneously, the company noted.

System options include:

  • 5.7-in. monochrome or 10.4-in. color screens
  • Bar code scanner
  • Alphanumeric keypad for entry of VIN
  • FlexPay Secure Card Reader
  • Contactless card reader
  • 5 button/incremental programmable preset
  • Two-level price posting for cash and credit pricing
  • Call button
  • Intercom speakers

Natso is the national trade association representing truckstops and travel plazas. The Natso Show will be held Feb 17-21 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
