The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has added the new Gold Medallion Retread Tire Program to the offerings of its fleetHQ tire-related emergency road-assistance service. The tire maker said the program offers “cost-effective, quality retreaded tires for emergency road service from coast to coast” and that Gold Medallion retreads “meet the premium casing standards of large national fleets and are backed by the Goodyear Retreaded Tire Limited Warranty.”

Key benefits of Gold Medallion retreaded tires cited by Goodyear include:

•Quality, cost-effective alternative to new tires.

•Meets the premium retread specs of large national fleets by wheel position.

•Popular on-highway sizes and treads available “coast to coast” through fleetHQ dealers.

“Gold Medallion helps deliver a lower-cost option for fleets of all sizes, and the savings don’t stop with the tire purchase,” said Dave Beasley, Goodyear senior director of business solutions-- Commercial Tire Systems. “Fleets can avoid the need to replace a new tire with a retread once the truck returns to the terminal. And they have the right tread for the wheel position, which helps improve performance and cost-per-mile.”

To ensure authenticity, Gold Medallion retreads are branded with a “Gold” emblem on the side of the tread directly above the tire’s DOT number.

Available tread designs include the Goodyear G305 AT LHD Fuel Max, G316 LHT Fuel Max and G182 RSD, and in these sizes: 295/75R22.5, 285/75R24.5, 275/80R22.5, 275/80R24.5, 11R22.5 and 11R24.5.

According to Goodyear, its fleetHQ emergency road service program has no enrollment fees, and no incidence fees for calling its toll free number (866-fleetHQ) and the price customers pay for tires on the road is the same as they pay at home.

The tire maker also said fleetHQ offers a portfolio of business solutions that include online information systems that provide 24/7 access to services in progress, retread history, repair data and tire purchase histories.
