A series of 23 “Focus on Safety” seminars hosted by Idealease in partnership with the National Private Truck Council (NPTC) are currently being held around the U.S. and Canada . The session focus on major regulatory and compliance changes.

The seminars, continuing through May, are aimed at helping attendees provide safety training to their drivers, reduce violations and accidents, and satisfy annual compliance requirements.

“The Idealease/NPTC Focus on Safety seminars will deliver valuable insights on CSA 2010, a new program from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration designed to reduce losses and fatalities in the U.S.,” said Dave Helge, Idealease vp of maintenance & safety.

Among the key points of the seminars will be to ready fleets for the new FMCSA Comprehensive Safety Analysis (CSA 2010) program, which identifies and tracks risk indicators such as moving violations, roadside inspections and DOT recordable accidents for both drivers and companies. They will feature step-by-step approaches on how to comply with the regulations, manage commercial motor vehicle safety and control liability.

The seminars cover virtually every aspect of commercial truck operation including FMCSA driver screening tool, driving qualifications, hours of service, drug and alcohol testing rules, vehicle maintenance and inspection, accident recordkeeping, SAFER/Safestat overview, and CSA 2010.
