Keenan to succeed Lynch at ABF

Arthur Lynch, vp-sales for LTL carrier ABF Freight System, plans to retire January 31 next year. James Keenan will replace the 35-year company veteran starting February 1.

Arthur Lynch, vp-sales for LTL carrier ABF Freight System, plans to retire January 31 next year. James Keenan will replace the 35-year company veteran starting February 1.

Lynch joined the company as a management trainee at the Chicago terminal in 1971, rising to regional vp-sales in 1981 and then to overall vp-sales in 2000.

Keenan, former vp-administration and treasurer for ABF, will lead all activity related to revenue growth through management of sales activities at all of ABF's customer service centers.

He came to ABF after its acquisition of East Texas Motor Freight in 1982, starting as a pricing analyst and later serving as vp-sales and marketing for brokerage firm Clipper Express (ABF’s sister company) before returning to ABF full time in 1999.
