Michelin North America (Canada) Inc. has filed suit in the federal court of Canada against Distribution Nortop and Rechapage Nortop Richmond for design patent infringement.

Michelin alleges that Nortop’s retread business has infringed on patents for Michelin’s XDY-3, XZY-2, XDS and XDN-2 treads in Canada.

Michelin is demanding that Nortop immediately stop importing, distributing and selling treads that infringe on Michelin patents. Michelin is also demanding a recall of the look-alike treads in inventories or in transit.
