To give buyers of its new commercial van easier access to custom exterior graphics, Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) has forged a partnership with Original Wraps, Inc., Lakewood, CO, to provide vehicle graphics “personalization technology.”

Original Wraps is developing a software application that will give buyers of Nissan’s 2012 NV commercial van the ability to create their own exterior graphic design, using their own logos or using the many assets on the site to get started.

The application will be available through the Nissan Commercial Vehicle website starting in January (2011), while the NV van itself is expected to be available for sale by spring 2011.

Joe Castelli, vp for Nissan Commercial Vehicles, said the graphics will be printed on 3M Scotchprint on-demand vinyl, laminated for protection and fade resistance, and they are removable and safe for the vehicle's exterior.

Delivery will usually take between 7 and 10 days, with professional graphic installers available in markets where Nissan Commercial Vehicles are sold, he added.

"It's part of our innovative approach to thinking about how our customers use their vans – including as a vehicle for advertising their company and services,” Castelli said.
