The Pennsylvania Dept. of Transportation is accepting applications to hire 24 seasonal truck drivers to plow snow and complete highway maintenance work this winter, according to Pennsylvania DOT’s District 8.
District 8 covers York, Lancaster, Dauphin, Adams, Cumberland, Franklin, Lebanon and Perry counties, according to the York Dispatch.
The drivers must have a Class B CDL driver’s license with the air brake restriction removed and at least six months’ experience.
Drivers would work 37 1/2 hours a week, starting at $16.39 an hour. Shifts are in 12-hour cycles and could include weekends and holidays.
Drivers would begin training in September and work through the end of March, said Mike Martin, acting senior highway maintenance manager for PennDOT District 8.
