A new device from Phillips Industries monitors the power status of nearly any battery. It is especially useful for lift gate batteries, the company said. The Battery Status Indicator alerts operators during pre-trip inspections if battery power is lower than required, according to Phillips.

The company said that if battery voltage is more than 12.4 volts or 75% power, a LED light flashes green.

But if the voltage falls below 12.39 volts, the light will blink red indicating that batteries should be charged, said Phillips.
