Pilot Flying J has opened a 7,390-sq.-ft. travel center in Collins, MO, at Highway 13 South and U.S. 54, in St. Clair County.

The facility was recently acquired by Pilot Flying J and will be remodeled to feature full amenities typical of other company centers. The remodel is expected to be complete by the end of this month.

Six fuel islands and eight diesel islands complement a restaurant and a wide variety of convenience items at the center.

“We hope that Collins-area residents and fleet customers will enjoy the convenience and amenities of our new Pilot Travel Center,” said Jimmy Haslam, president & CEO of Pilot Flying J. “The travel center will serve this community through products and services as well as contribute to the local economy through jobs and tax revenue. And, we’ll fill the needs of those carrying goods to communities across the nation.”

Once the remodel is complete, the Collins location will include a Subway restaurant; pay phones; fax and copy services; Western Union; an ATM; lottery and Lotto tickets; an arcade; an AirVac; and general merchandise for professional drivers and highway travelers.

“We believe our familiar Pilot sign will be a welcome sight for interstate travelers and professional drivers. They’ll want to pull off to fill up, refresh and sample some of our featured food items,” said Troy Savage, general manager for the Collins location. “Our premium hot beverages include gourmet specialty coffees from all over the world as well as Pilot’s house…We also have a variety of fountain drinks, fresh brewed tea and cappuccino.”

The Collins Pilot location also will feature a deli area with Oscar Mayer hot dogs, sandwiches, pizza and pastries, said Savage.

In addition to diesel fuel, professional drivers will have access to services such as a CAT scale, laundry services, three automated showers and 35 parking spaces for trucks.
