Global truck component supplier Wabco Holdings recently named Kazuo Kawashima to the newly created chief quality officer position within its executive suite; a position that reports directly to Wabco’s CEO Jacques Esculier, who also serves as chairman.
“This new executive role reflects the evolution of WABCO’s commitment to the highest standards of quality across every function and in each location globally as we strive to grow quality in everything we do as a differentiator in how we continue to satisfy customers,” Esculier said.
Kawashima – a 30-year veteran of the automotive industry – most recently served as president of Ichikoh Industries Ltd., a Japan-based manufacturer of vehicular lighting for the automotive industry. He’s also served as vp-quality for Valeo, a top global automotive supplier, along with senior positions in quality, operations and engineering based in Japan and Mexico at Nissan Motor Co.
