Buffalo, NY-based third party logistics company Speed Transportation has tapped Jim Trubits to be its global supply management specialist, using his expertise in international logistics to build up its cross-border import and export business.

Trubits, a 27-year veteran of the field of customs brokerage and logistics, specializes in managing freight border crossings, air, and ocean logistics. Prior to joining Speed, he worked with PBB Global Logistics for over 21 years.

Speed’s services include domestic and cross-border trucking, ocean shipping and global airfreight, but Carl Savarino, the company’s president, said the key to business today is navigating ever more complex security rules governing freight movements.

“In the post-September 11 era, proficiency with homeland security guidelines is invaluable to any international manufacturer,” he explained. “Knowledge of the intricacies of global importing and exporting help companies reduce risks, avoid delays and ultimately save money.”
