Truck wheel maker Accuride Corp., plans to invest some $25 million in its aluminum wheel business

Truck wheel maker Accuride Corp., plans to invest some $25 million in its aluminum wheel business. It will fund the construction of two new hydraulic presses along with other tactical improvements to facilities and equipment.

“This investment represents both a long-term commitment to our customers and a significant milestone in the implementation of our strategic plan,” said Rick Klein, vp & gm of Accuride Aluminum Wheels.

He said Accuride tentatively decided to locate the new press cells in Erie, PA, sometime in late 2007 and are expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2008. Additional changes to facilities and equipment should take place during the second and third quarters of this year, Klein noted.
