Designed for P&D and other vocational applications that require high output at idle, the new Delco Remy 36SI HP heavy-duty brushless alternator is rated at 100 amps at idle and 170 amps at highway speeds in ambient temperatures up to 105 deg. C.

Improved electrical efficiency for the new alternator is also said to lower operating horsepower, leading to improved engine efficiency and lower fuel costs, according to Remy Inc. Like other heavy-duty brushless alternators in the Delco Remy 35SI and 36SI model lines, the new vocational unit features a “flex-lead” bridge design resistance and higher-capacity press-fit diodes for increase vibration and heat resistance.

The new 36SI HD comes with a 3-yr./350,000 mi. warranty on new units and 2-yr./250,000 mi. coverage for factory remanufactured units.

The company has also reintroduced the Delco Remy 42MT HD starter with a number of new technologies. The heavy-duty unit now features an integral magnetic switch to protect the starter from the impact of voltage losses. Other features include over-cranking protection with a thermal switch, and a semi-solid link solenoid to help eliminate solenoid contact welding.

The 42MT HD is also available in new and factory remanufactured models with the same warranty as the new Delco Remy alternator.
