The national average price for a gallon of diesel increased 1.6 cents to $2.471 for the week ending Feb. 26, according to the Energy Information Administration. This breaks a two-week trend of descending diesel prices.
All regions posted price increases, except for New England, where prices remained stable at $2.593. The biggest price jump was on the West Coast, which saw a 2.9-cent increase to $2.623. The cheapest diesel could be found in the Midwest at $2.417 after a 1.9-cent increase. California remained the most expensive region in which to fill up at $2.688 after a 1.4-cent increase.
