The California Trucking Association is underscoring safety at its 2004 International Truck Show (ITS). The Safe-Sim Challenge, which will take place September 23 - 25 at the Anaheim Convention Center, will offer a contest on a truck-driving simulator.
The simulator will have competitors behind the wheel navigating a virtual straight truck or semi in an environment that tests their driving skills. Driving infractions will add seconds or minutes to the elapsed time. Participants will compete for the lowest adjusted time.
ITS will also offer the following seminars:
-
DOT regulatory update;
-
Alcohol & drug testing: mandatory supervisor training;
-
How to survive a BIT audit;
-
Hazmat re-certification fundamentals;
-
California laws & regulations seminar: vehicle code & Title 13.
