The 1999 Motor Carrier Safety Improvement Act (MCSIA) today directed the Federal MotorCarrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to conduct a study and report to Congress on the feasibility and merits of requiring Medical Review Officers and employers to report verified positive drug test results for CDL drivers to the State that issued their driver's license.
The FMCSA is initiating a study on the issue and is taking public comments on the proposal until August 8. Comments can be submitted electronically.
