Freightgate Inc., which provides Internet applications for the freight and logistics industry, has opened a new business support and development office in Chicago.

"A presence in Chicago will help us more easily reach the Midwest and East Coast, positioning ourselves to broaden our footprint nationally," said director of business development Lawrence R. Graf III. "As we continue to increase our growth each year, and as our products continue to take hold within different sectors of the industry, we have seen the need to diversify our service points and, from a sales standpoint, tap the benefits of increased geographical exposure and penetration."

Huntington Beach, CA-based Freightgate opened an office in Marseilles, France last year to provide dedicated service to the European market.
