Freightquote.com has expanded its Internet-based B2B freight and logistics matching service to cover Mexico. The company, based in Lenexa, KS, said its customers can now obtain transportation quotes online as well as all necessary customs documentation and insurance to ship goods to all major destinations in North America, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico as well as Canada and Mexico.

"In order to ship to locations outside the continental U.S., shippers would typically have to piece together multiple tariffs, ocean charges, pickup charges, and other applicable fees. We offer a single, inclusive, affordable price," said Scott Hagenkord, Freightquote.com’s director of carrier operations. "These additions complete our North American agenda and get us closer to our goal: providing a one-stop resource for traffic managers."

Freightquote.com said the carriers servicing select destinations in Mexico through its site are Watkins Motor Lines, Central Transport International and Roadway Express. In addition to Mexico, services to and from Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are now being provided via partner carriers such as Overnite Transportation, Watkins Motor Lines and Southeastern Freight Lines. The company said it intends to offer international air as an option on its web site as early as January of 2002.
