Home Depot Inc. announced today that it has extended its five-year logistics relationship with J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. by selecting the company's Dedicated Contract Services (DCS) division as the key dedicated transportation logistics provider for its new Rialto, CA, transit facility.

"Our longtime supply chain relationship with J.B. Hunt DCS has helped us maintain a competitive edge by offering creative and effective delivery services across our business," said Lee Bandlow, vp transportation for Home Depot. "We look forward to strengthening our relationship even further with the addition of the Rialto facility."

J.B. Hunt DCS manages outbound shipping from the Rialto distribution point and is a key provider of some inbound vendor freight services. The transit facility concept, which provides crossdock services, was initiated by Home Depot in 1996 when J.B. Hunt was selected as the provider for Home Depot's first transit facility in Philadelphia.

The two companies have worked together to provide a variety of services for Home Depot, including facility-to-store service in Philadelphia and Rialto, store delivery, and inbound and outbound services at 10 distribution centers.
