Landstar Names New President

Landstar System Inc., a Fla.-based trucking and logistics company, has promoted Henry Gerkens to be its new president & CFO. Gerkens has been the company’s executive vp & CFO since 1988. Jeff Crowe, who will continue to serve as chairman & CEO, said the move is part of Landstar’s ongoing efforts to consolidate and streamline its operation. Landstar System Inc., a Fla.-based trucking and logistics company, has promoted Henry Gerkens to be its new president & CFO. Gerkens has been the company’s executive vp & CFO since 1988.

Jeff Crowe, who will continue to serve as chairman & CEO, said the move is part of Landstar’s ongoing efforts to consolidate and streamline its operation.

Gerkens will be responsible for daily operations of the entire Landstar system of companies, while Crowe will continue to strategically position and enhance the company’s visibility in the global marketplace.

In addition to being responsible for the company’s financial and administrative functions, Gerkins currently oversees operations of its trucking subsidiaries – Landstar Gemini, Landstar Inway, Landstar Ligon and Landstar Ranger. As Landstar’s president he will also be responsible for the Company's Multimodal Group – Landstar Express America and Landstar Logistics.
