McHugh Software International has formed a dedicated transportation division to develop versions of its Enterprise Logistics Management software system for trucking companies and others.
The firm has appointed Rod Strata, formerly head of transportation business for software maker i2, president of its new transportation business unit, which will be headquartered in Cary, NC.
"Transportation management is one of the fastest growing markets within the supply chain management field," said president & CEO John Jazwiec.
He noted that a study by consulting firm ARC Advisory Group forecasts that market to reach $1.7 billion by 2006, up from $804 million last year.
