Old Dominion earnings up 75%

LTL carrier Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. said yesterday that its third-quarter earnings rose 75% to $6.395 million compared with $3.660 million in the year-ago quarter. Thomasville, NC-based Old Dominion said it expect fourth-quarter earnings per share in the range of 49 cents to 59 cents. It expects earnings per share for the full year to be $2.05 to $2.15. LTL carrier Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. said yesterday that its third-quarter earnings rose 75% to $6.395 million compared with $3.660 million in the year-ago quarter.

Thomasville, NC-based Old Dominion said it expect fourth-quarter earnings per share in the range of 49 cents to 59 cents. It expects earnings per share for the full year to be $2.05 to $2.15.

The company expects earnings per share in 2003 to be between $3.00 and $3.10, excluding the effect of a possible equity financing. Including the financing, the company expects 2003 earnings per share to be between $2.56 and $2.64.
