Arthur Andersen had served as the company's independent auditor since its fiscal year ended September 30, 2000 and recently completed a review of the company's financial statements for the quarter ended March 31, 2002.

Oshkosh's board of directors said it chose Deloitte & Touche after consideration of developments affecting Arthur Andersen. The decision to change auditors was not the result of any disagreement between the company and Arthur Andersen on any matter of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure, or auditing scope or procedure, the company said.
