Mobile resource management (MRM) provider @Road Inc. has formed a strategic alliance with TransDecisions, a Boston-area developer of logistics software for enterprises and transportation.

According to the agreement, the two companies will develop and market an integrated solution consisting of the @Road MRM service and TransDecisions' mobile logistics and scheduling system, Fleet Logistics Solution (FLS).

@Road customers will have access to a hosted and fully automated routing and dispatching system, which would seamlessly integrate work order data, customer business rules and traveling instructions with mobile worker location information.

The planned union of these technologies would enable customers to deploy one solution meeting a broader set of MRM needs, which is expected to accelerate the return on investment commonly realized through the independent implementation of these systems. @road said.

FLS is a routing and scheduling engine, which was designed specifically for high-volume decision environments such as web-driven applications, decision analysis and real-time logistics. Designed for companies with large field service or food distribution organizations, FLS is intended to work with applications where speed of calculation and accuracy of results is critical.
