Having changed its name from HighwayMaster to @Track Communications two years ago, the company has asked stockholders to change the name once again, this time to Minorplanet Systems USA Inc. The new name would reflect the majority stockholder position held by the European wireless services company Minorplanet Systems PLC.

In March, the company severed it last connections with the HighwayMaster name, selling off its HighwayMaster branded long-haul wireless services and products to Aether Systems. The Richardson, TX, company is now focused on marketing Minorplanet’s VMI system, an automated vehicle tracking and management system for local and regional fleet operations.
