C.C. Western Inc., a subsidiary of Central Transport International of Warren, MI, and DiSalvo Trucking of San Francisco plan to form a strategic alliance to provide LTL service in California.
Central Transport and its subsidiaries provide nationwide LTL service reaching 98% of major manufacturing markets across North America. The parent company is based in suburban Detroit and is part of a group of transportation-related companies owned by privately held CenTra, which generated an estimated $825 million in revenues last year.
DiSalvo Trucking, one of just a few privately owned intrastate LTL carriers in California, hopes to tap into Central's nationwide network.
"We believe that the pending deal with C.C. Western is in the best interests of DiSalvo's customers and stakeholders," said Charles Lawlor, DiSalvo chairman. "Our customers will benefit from new one-stop shopping opportunities for freight services beyond California."
