The two propane tanker trucks stolen over the holiday weekend were found in a parking area of an abandoned warehouse just outside of Laredo, TX along Texas Highway 359 Wednesday morning at around 9:30. All of the 5,500 gallons of propane that was reportedly in the vehicles is accounted for, the FBI said.

“The vehicles were found by two animal control officers,” FBI Special Agent Rene Salinas told Fleet Owner. “They were taking care of some rabid dogs when they spotted the trucks,” adding that they heard about the missing tankers in the news.

The warehouse is in rural “ranch country,” Salinas said. The vehicles had not been tampered with and were “just sitting there.” The trucks are now under the control of law enforcement.

No arrests have been made. The case is still under investigation and no links to terrorism have been made at this time.
