Volvo Sign Agreement With Iranian Manufacturer

Volvo Trucks has signed a new cooperative agreement with Saipa Diesel of Iran to manufacture 1,500 heavy trucks a year. The deal was signed in October 2000 and recently approved by the Ministry of Industry in Iran. The agreement covers the introduction of the FH12 and NH12 models in Iran, and it also gives Saipa the possibility to locally manufacture truck components under the supervision of Volvo.

The agreement covers the introduction of the FH12 and NH12 models in Iran, and it also gives Saipa the possibility to locally manufacture truck components under the supervision of Volvo.

Since the early 1970s, Volvo Trucks has supplied more than 40,000 heavy trucks to Iran.
