Despite an economic downturn and rocky financial results, truck trailer manufacturer Wabash National Corp. is moving forward with a $2 million investment in new assembly line technology.

Wabash said this new flexible assembly line, whick will be installed in the first quarter, would produce its aluminum and DuraPlate trailers at its manufacturing complex in Lafayette, IN. It will create the needed capacity to support Wabash's focus on the smaller and medium-size fleet market segments, the company said.

"This new line will provide production solutions to give us the kind of flexibility and capabilities we need to operate our processes more effectively and efficiently," president & CEO William Greubel said.
