Gary Frantz is returning to San Mateo, CA-based transportation conglomerate CNF as director of corporate communications.

He will be responsible for program development, management of media relations, and support for integrated communications programs throughout the CNF organization, with emphasis on its two third-party logistics subsidiaries, Menlo Worldwide and Vector SCM.

Frantz, a 25-year veteran of the corporate public relations field, re-joins CNF from Alameda, CA-based technology firm GT Nexus, where he directed media and analyst relations and customer communications programs since 2001.

Frantz previously worked for the CNF companies from 1987 to 1998, starting as public relations manager for Consolidated Freightways, Inc. and later becoming director of corporate communications for Con-Way Transportation Services. He began his public relations career with The Bechtel Corporation after working as a journalist.
