Frederick “Fritz” Henderson, chairman of GM Europe and a GM group vice president, will become GM’s vice chairman & CFO effective Jan. 1, 2006. He will succeed current vice chairman & CFO John Devine who has agreed to work closely with Henderson on transitional issues and advise GM’s chairman & CEO Rick Wagoner on implementing the GM North America turnaround plan.
Henderson holds an MBA from Harvard, a degree in finance from the University of Michigan, and is an accredited CPA. He began his career at GM in 1984. He has been in charge of GM Europe since June 2004, and previously was president of GM Asia Pacific from 2002 to 2004.
Carl-Peter Forster, GM vp & president of GM Europe, will replace Henderson as a GM group vp & president of GM Europe. Before joining GM Europe in 2004, Forster served as chairman and managing director of Adam Opel AG.
