An outbound and backhaul management system for grocery and other private fleets will integrate real-time information from Qualcomm's onboard wireless systems, automating a number of functions and improving fleet utilization, according to Qualcomm Enterprise Services.
Integration of Qualcomm data with the CAMS Software Corp. management system is intended to help private fleets allocate equipment assets, increase backhaul opportunities and simplify management of driver activity-based pay.
The integrated workflow information from vehicles will also allow managers to track delivery and recovery of reusable items by store location as well as automate functions, such as load assignments, event triggers and work process forms. The companies say that resulting efficiencies will help lower operational costs, reduce errors made by manual entry, and improve on-time fulfillment.
Brian Taylor, president of CAMS Software, said the integration will also reduce overtime costs while improving customer service.
