Schneider National today announced it will host a job fair aimed at hiring 150 new truck drivers in the greater Akron, OH area to serve its new clients and expand its existing relationships in the area. The event will be held on Feb. 10 – 11 at the company’s operating center in Seville, OH.

Newly hired drivers will work for Schneider National's One-Way, Dedicated or Intermodal divisions.

“Schneider National is committed to the development of innovative programs to attract and retain professional truck drivers,” said Rob Reich, vp of enterprise recruiting at Schneider National. “During the first quarter of 2006, the company is introducing new driver improvements to provide enhanced support, incentive programs and recognition for drivers' dedication and hard work.”

Inexperienced drivers are encouraged to apply for the new positions and will earn an average of $35,500-$43,500 in their first year. Experienced drivers will earn an average of $49,500-$58,500 per year. Drivers may qualify for up to a $4,000 sign-on bonus. Owner-operators leasing with Schneider will average $105,000-$115,000 annually. Schneider offers a training program.
