A free webcast on “Avoiding Negligent Supervision” when bringing new drivers into your fleet will be broadcast on Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. CST.

Jointly sponsored by the National Private Truck Council (NPTC) and J.J. Keller & Assocs., the one-hour online session will look at the best ways to orient new drivers and acclimate them to your fleet’s expectations and requirements.

Mark Weaver, safety consultant for J.J. Keller, will offer basic best practices for managing drivers during their first 90 days of employment. As associate director of transportation operations for Kraft Foods, Al Jankauskas will explain how that private fleet has been successful in integrating its new hires, and Rick Schweitzer, general counsel for NPTC will comment on legal requirements and issues involved in supervising new hires. NPTC president & CEO Gary Petty will act as moderator of the online session.
