The American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI) has scheduled a regulatory webinar entitled “Environmental Monitoring and Product Testing: Lessons Learned from Other Food Sectors.” This webinar will take place August 20, 2015, at 2 pm EDT. Facilitated by the AFFI’s Dr Donna Garren, the webinar will feature as presenters Drew McDonald with Church Brothers Produce LLC and Dr John Butts with Land O’ Frost Inc.
Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) implementation will warrant effective environmental monitoring and product testing programs in food production facilities. In this webinar, industry experts from the meat and fresh produce sectors will share insights on key processes and critical steps involved with successful microbiological sampling and quality assurance systems. They will discuss evolution of food safety programs in their specific sectors, particularly focusing on validation and verification of sanitation, environmental sampling and monitoring, and product testing plans. Members are expected to gain knowledge of best practices from these disparate food sectors as they prepare for upcoming rulings on preventive controls and FSMA implementation. Registration is free for AFFI members. To register, click here. Email Sanjay Gummalla at [email protected] or phone 703-821-0770 for more information.
