Peterbilt dealer to host natural gas forum

June 13, 2012

The Pete Store, part of the Peterbilt dealer network, will host a natural gas truck forum on July 24th in Greenville, SC.

The half-day event will take place at the Embassy Suites Golf Resort & Conference Center and includes speakers from Clean Energy,Cummins, Paccar Leasing, Peterbilt Motors, Pivotal LNG and Westport Innovations.

“Natural gas has quickly become one of the most compelling technologies in our industry,” said Greg Arscott, general manager for the company’s South Carolina operations. “From our standpoint, the most exciting thing about natural gas is that, financially speaking, it stands on its own two feet. Government assistance is helpful, but certainly not vital to making it viable for a fleet.”

On display at the event will be a Peterbilt tractor equipped with a Westport 15L GX liquefied natural gas engine. It will be available for ride-and-drive opportunities.

“Because there are several operational considerations a fleet must make before a conversion, we thought it made sense to bring all the key players to the table and have an open discussion about it,” Arscott added.

Companies interested in attending this event may contact Ava Harrington at 864-269-7202.
