Quantum introduces next-gen back-of-cab, frame-mount CNG systems

INDIANAPOLIS. Quantum Technologies announced its next-generation of compressed natural gas fuel systems this week at the NTEA’s Work Truck Show.

The systems, the Quantum Q-Cab and Q-Rail, will be available in July, the company said.

The Q-Cab Gen II is a back-of-cab system featuring 123 diesel gallon equivalent (DGE) storage and features a lightweight design and increased durability. A hook-and-hang mounting mechanism makes installation easy, Quantum said. Multiple mounting hole options increases is flexibility.

The system, which also features filter and service components located above the frame rails for easy maintenance access, is equipped with three Q-Lite tanks. The addition of two Q-Rail frame modules will increase the vehicle’s capacity to 216.6 DGE.

The Q-Rail Gen II system is available in 30.2, 41.2, or 46.5 DGE configurations and features a sleek, aerodynamic design. A hook-and-hang mechanism with variable width and mounting hole options makes increasing installation options.

The Q-Rail includes one Q-Lite tank and includes configurable stepping bars in either full, partial length or delete configuration.

Both systems come with a 2-year, 200,000-mi. warranty.
