FMCSA issues tank cleaning notice

April 15, 2016
Tanks tested by two Alabama companies between April 2011 and March 2016 must be re-inspected and/or retested by a firm registered with FMCSA, according to a safety advisory the agency issued.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) issued a safety advisory this week stating that tanks tested by either H&W Tank Testing of Ohatchee, AL, and Christopher Humphries of Jacksonville, AL, between April 2011 and March this year must be re-inspected and/or retested immediately by an FMCSA-registered firm.

The agency added that owners and operators of those cargo tanks must also provide it with documentation that required re-inspections and retesting occurred.

Questions should be directed to FMCSA's Hazardous Materials Division at [email protected].
