Advantech releases touch computer

Sept. 2, 2016
According to the manufacturer, UTC-320 is the slimmest and most lightweight all-in-one touch computer available for commercial applications.

Advantech, a provider of service automation solutions, launched its new UTC-320D/E, a 21.5 in. all-in-one touch computer that features a slim 18-mm bezel and 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution. Powered by an Intel Celeron J1900/Core i5 processor that supports Android, Windows, and Linux OS, UTC-320D/E “delivers superior computing performance in a compact and lightweight form factor,” according to the company.

In addition to rear I/O that includes 6 x USB, 2 x COM, 1 x HDMI, and 2 x gigabit Ethernet ports, the UTC-320D/E frame features pre-perforated removable docking station sections on all four sides to enable the integration of peripherals such as a 5M camera, MSR, RFID reader, smart card reader, and 1/2D barcode scanner, the company said. Advantech added that the removable frame design offers “flexibility for stand-alone, panel, or VESA mount installation to support a wide range of applications.”

“Equipped with the UTC-300 series’ signature plastic exterior, the UTC-320 is the slimmest and most lightweight all-in-one touch computer available on the market,” according to the company. “The UTC-320 platform can be equipped with either an entry-level Intel Celeron J1900 (UTC-320D) processor or a high-performance Intel Core i5 (UTC-320E) processor to support applications that require high horsepower to drive ARP or SRP software. In terms of display, the width of the UTC-320D/E bezel is only 18 mm, narrower than that of the other UTC-300 series products. This combined with the 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution provides a superior viewing experience.”

According to the company, features include:

  • Intel Celeron J1900 quad core (2.0 GHz)/Core i5 (1.9 GHz) processor
  • 21.5” LCD with 16:9 widescreen format, 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, 250 nits
  • Can be equipped with either a capacitive or resistive touchscreen
  • Lightweight, fanless unit with IP65-compliant front panel
  • Detachable frame design enables stand-alone, panel, or VESA mount installation
  • Standard VESA mount holes (100 mm)
  • All cables can be routed in the frame for recessed cable management
  • System frame features 4 pre-perforated removable docking station sections for integrating diverse peripherals
