Brown Trucking implements Comdata solution

June 4, 2013

Brown Trucking Co., a subsidiary of Brown Integrated Logistics, will implement Comdata Corp.’s fleet payment solutions and cardless technology.

“We were searching for a provider who could offer all the solutions that we need to improve the efficiency of our business,” said Brian Kinsey, CEO, Brown Integrated Logistics. “While our primary concern was a fuel card, we were looking for a partner who also has the potential to help us administer terminal fuel, permits, fuel tax, and even purchasing and travel expenses as needed. Comdata’s experience and track record of innovation in the transportation industry fit that bill.

Brown Trucking has implemented Comdata’s proprietary card program to manage its fuel spend across its more than 1,000 truck fleet. The company has also equipped vehicles with Comdata SmartQ cardless technology.

SmartQ, which uses radio-frequency identification to automate the fueling process and reduce the risk of fraud, is available at merchant locations nationwide. Brown is also using this technology to streamline purchases at their terminal locations.

“Comdata is excited to work with Brown Trucking,” said Randy Morgan, executive vice president, Comdata. “As a company, we are committed to delivering flexible payment solutions to the industry, and working with Brown to quickly implement a robust cardless program helps us do just that.”
