TMCFutureTech 2015 applications deadline extended

The American Trucking Assns. (ATA) Technology and Maintenance Council has extended the deadline for the organization's national student technician competition, TMCFutureTech 2015, through Aug. 28.  
The American Trucking Assns. (ATA) Technology and Maintenance Council has extended the deadline for the organization's national student technician competition, TMCFutureTech 2015, through Aug. 28. Applications can be found on event sponsor Velociti Inc.'s website at www.velociti.com/TMC-FUTURE-TECH. The event, which is designed to promote career opportunities as a heavy truck technician, will be held in conjunction with TMCSuperTech 2015, the annual technician skills competition ATA's Tech & Maintenance Council will host this year at its Fall Meeting Sept. 21-24 in Orlando, FL.TMCFutureTech 2015 will feature of a set of skill stations for technician students and will take place at the same time as TMCSuperTech 2015 for professional technicians. Registration for TMCFutureTech 2015 is limited to 80 individuals. This year, the student competition will be held Tuesday, Sept. 22, and winners will be announced the next day at the TMCSuperTech 2015 awards luncheon, ATA notes. Velociti will present a starter toolbox to the top three student winners at the awards luncheon. In addition, the schools of the top three winners will receive electric training boards at the upcoming TMC Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exposition to be held Feb. 29-March 3, 2016, in Nashville, TN.Visit www.trucking.org/Events.aspx for more information.
