DuPont is expanding the production of its newly developed polymer-based separators, which aim to improve the power and life of hybrid and electric vehicle (EV) lithium-ion batteries, according to a news item posted by IndustryWeek.
The company will be building a $20-million EV battery facility in Chesterfield County, VA.,
The plant will have the capacity to supply 20% of the automotive industry’s current demand for such batteries by the time it opens next year, according to the report.
